Partaking of the Body and Blood of Jesus unworthily

Whoever, therefore eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be giulty of profaining the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinnks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgement upon himself. (1 Cor 11:27-29)
There are 2 things being implied here.
Examination of Conscience, and get to confession!
An examinaiton of conscience is exactly when you look at yourself and see what sins that you have commited. Now honestly, there is no way that you have to remember all of your sins. But you can not withold the ones that you do know. There are various ones that exist. I’ve seen some that are like 20 questions, and ones that are a lot more. I perfer to make my examination of conscience a lot simpler than this. So I’d like to share with you what I use as examination of conscience
Dr. Joe’s examination of concience
a. If the Lord looked at your actions, what would He say? Do your actions reflect His teachings?
b. If the Lord loked at your brain, would He see the things that defile, or a pure thought?
c. If the Lord listened to your words, would He say you’re proclaming Him, or away with you evildoer?
After that, you take these thoughts, what comes back to your brain and head to confession 🙂
Going to Confession:
If you didn’t pass an examination of concsience, you of cousre should go to confession. You don’t want to be giulty of St. Paul’s words. Probally asking me, why go to confession, you can confess your sins to God!
You confess ALL sins to God, this is true, because God is really forgiving the sin, through the priest. However, you must go to confession if your in violoation of the examination of conscience for the following
First and foremost, we are a family in Christ. When we commit a sin, we hurt God, ourselves, and those around us, whether we realize it or not. Think of it like this remember those games Domino Rally (I think that’s what they were called)? Well, we’re all Domino’s in the Body of Christ. You commit sin, you fall, causing someone else to fall, thus causing someone else to fall, so on and so forth, till everyone has fallen. Of course you have to pick up the pieces after they fall. How do you do that, by going to confession. That’s the labor part of cleaning, actually having to recognize the mistake and having to confess to a priest takes humility and is the way that God commanded us to do so. (Matt 9:6,8, Mk 2:10, John 20:21-23, 2 Cor 2:10, There are A LOT MORE VERSES). Also you receive a grace when you go to confession, and you feel way better after saying them to public.
I encourage all of you to go at LEAST once a month. I try to go twice per month minimum.
Just remember what I have said about this nextime you go to Mass and partake in the Eucharist!
