Posture Guidelines for Catholic Christians in the West

Because Catholics Genuflect, Kneel and Bow interchangebly (inappropriately for that manner)…Time for some basic instruction.
Genflecting is an ACT OF WORSHIP APPLIED TO GOD ALONE.
Appropriate times to Genuflecta. Towards the Tabernacle.b. Before recieving Holy Communion. (It is prefeced that you Genuflect before recieving Holy Communion, because that is Truely Jesus Present in front of you)c. Adoration.
Appropriate times to Bow.a. In front of a Crucifix (where the tabernacle is NOT visible, Genuflecting superseeds Bowing always)b. In front of statues of the Saints and Mary.c. In front of the Altar because it’s the table of God’s saving Sacraficed. In front of images of the Saints, Mary, and Jesus. (icons in the east)e. in front of the priest who celebrates mass (if altar serving, because he’s offering the Body and Blood of Jesus aler Cristus)
f. in front of empty tabernacle
Appropriate times to kneela. When recieving communion. (If your Church still has altar rails, they should STILL BE IN USE!)b. When praying.c. After the Agnus Deid. During the concecratione. Public Prayer (Rosaries, Litanies, etc)
Hopefully this helps all of you not just be robotic 🙂
Amen!
