Hmmm, maybe if people explained the impossiblity of women’s ordination like this, we’d have less whiners

A question that I’ve pondered at times during thought goes something like this:

If in a Marriage, the participation in the act of creation is through sexual intercourse, how is it that the Catholic Priest participates in the creation in their “Marriage” to the Church?

In Creation when the Most Holy Trinity was present, Man was created first, then from the rib of man came woman. Only only in the unity of the two does Life come. Man can not create life by himself, or can woman create life by herself as the fact that we’re not asexual creatures.

As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, and as the Bible describes the relationship between Christ and His Church as that between a husband and a wife. (i.e. The Church is the Bride of Christ)

In childbirth, the child can only be born once.

Jn 3,3 says “Amen, Amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.

In verse 2, we see Nicodemas refuting any argument that this means being born of a Mother again. As this can not happen. (Or more like thinking WHAT?)

So Jesus explains himself in verse 5 Amen, Amen, I say to thee unless a man be born of water and of the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

So I came to think, how does Baptism happen? That is to say by the words of Jesus (Matt 28, 19), in the Church, through the hands of the Priest. (ignoring extraordinary circumstances)

What are the effects, we become a new creation in Christ, the original sin of old is past away.

This new creation happens to be how one gains membership into the Church, (how the Church has children in otherwords). The priest particpates in this “new creation” by using the Trinitarian formula for Baptism and using the sacramentals of water and oil.

Thus in one sense, the Baptized Child is like a son or daughter to the priest in a spiritual sense.

The participation in creation follows in the Church, the same as it does in a Marriage.

Thus if there was to be a woman priest, would the creation be as God designed it? well, no.

(This is ignoring the Deacon’s wives in the early Church who used to perform baptisms on baby girls because they baptized naked then. Plus the theology of the Deaconate is different from that of the priesthood, so they wouldn’t apply here :))

These thoughts are a bit incomplete. I’ll add the references to the CCC and more Scripture later.
