Many in the African American community (not this one), feel that an Obama presidency would be a method for “retaliation” for the sins of the past. This is especially of the older generation, the ones that had to deal with the civil rights movement. For those of you that aren’t familiar, “Black Liberation Theology is basically Marxist in nature, but it’s “empowering blacks” through the minimizing of everyone around them. This exactly the crazy thing that Jeremiah Wright was talking about in his community.
My biggest fear (besides the amount of babies that are going to be killed by the FOCA) is this very one. The retaliation of the African American community for the sins of the past. (which I don’t need to mention, everyone knows). It has not been easy, fighting for civil rights (which in reality did already exist in some places, they were not enforced (like immigration laws). In my opinion it is not right to use the government to get back for sins of the past.
These sins occurred in time. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO MAKE UP FOR THESE SINS OF THE PAST, NOT ELECTING OBAMA, NOT WORSHIPPING OPRAH, NOTHING! The people who committed these sins are DEAD AND MORE THAN LIKELY IN HELL :).
The IMPORTANT thing is that we learn from these mistakes, and see that they don’t happen again in history. I wrote this at dymphna’s blog the other day.
“Which brings up a much needed question, is it right to use the government to get back for the sins of the past? The reason that people are afraid to vote against Obama is because of the sins of the past committed by whites, plain and simple. The sad fact that I have to mention that is beyond belief. When will society realize that you can not control things of the past, but you can control things of the present and the things of the present effect the things of the future? Was what they did to the African American community bad? of course, no one’s denying that. The question is what is being done to prevent such things from happening again. You and me as African Americans should be embarrassed by the fact that people are scared to vote against someone they know is morally evil just because of their race. I do not believe for one min that it’s correct to use the government to obtain retribution for the sins of the past. I’m a firm believer in objectivity, which apparently no longer applies to today’s world. God help us all :)”
The fact of the matter is to me, it’s MORE offensive that fact that someone’s going to vote for Obama based on sympathy for the African American community, rather than based on the objective facts that he wants to kill babies and promote socialism/obamunism…
These are my two cents.
