Just sayin….

If we’re going to sing, we should sing songs that convey the Catholic Faith…I’ve been meaning to parse some of these “Praise and Worship” songs, but I haven’t gotten around to it till now.

The Heart of Worship

Verse 1:
When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come (Of course no mentioning of whether you’re in state of grace or not when coming to God)
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth (Should it not the point of reference be from God to us, not the other way around)
That will bless Your heart

Bridge:
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required (Well…The Church is God’s Authority on Earth…and there are propers that we have in the Mass which are the normal, but the Church tolerates hymns. The method being, we’re outside of time…God inspired…everything should be from the same point of reference)
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

Chorus:
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus (The offering to God the Father, through God the Son, with the Holy Spirit, in short a Trinitarian Liturgy…Of course this song isn’t even Catholic to begin with…and does have a hint of modalism in it)
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus

Verse 2:
King of endless worth
No one could express (Even though on the whole this is true, a limited capacity of an infinite God, well, the Church is the authority and has many expressions of the One Faith)
How much You deserve
Though I’m weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

Bridge:
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

Chorus:
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus

Chorus:
I’m coming back to the heart of worship,
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus
