Outline for Reflection for 14th Su in OT

Is 66, 10-14; Ps 66, 1-7. 16. 20; Gal 6, 14-18; Lk 10, 1-12. 17-20

a. Why is the Church called our Mother?

  1. She is the bride of Christ (Eph 5, 25-31)
  2. She feeds us with what’s necessary for our Salvation (1st Reading)

b. Necessity of Dogma

  1. To define clearly what Christ has taught
  2. The bounds to know right relationship with God

c. Why do Christians wear a crucifix?

  1. To remind us as the instrument of our redemption
  2. We boast in nothing but the Cross (Gal 6, 14)
  3. Jesus did not rise from the Cross, but from the tomb, it is incorrect theology to have a “resurrectrix”
  4. Reminds us to take up our cross on a daily basis

d. No one can be cohered into the Catholic Faith

  1. If people refuse to hear the Faith, let them go, we are not the agents of conversion, the Holy Spirit is. (Lk 10, 11)
  2. We must preach the Catholic Faith with the greatest charity, in public, in our homes
  3. Error can not be condoned or accepted, however; free will must be respected

e. We pray for the grace to accept and live out to our Mother’s explanation and the evangelization of the world, Amen!
