Reflection for 17th Su in OT

Gen 18, 20-32; Ps 138, 1-8; Col 2, 12-14; Lk 11, 1-13

  1. Sodom and Gammorah is example of God’s mercy

    a. God shows His love for the innocent, repeating not once, but six times that he would spare Sodom and Gammorah.

    b. Compare that to Jesus asking St Peter if he loves Him 3 times times 2.

    c. Repitition is a sign of love

    d. However we all know how the story ends, no one was found innocent, in His mercy he destroyed them to not allow them to sin again

  2. God answers all of our prayers in His will

    a. Elijah asks for death in the OT, does not get that, was not in God’s will

    b. Bathsheba asks Solomon about Abajijah, again, not granted

c,. We ask prayers in the form of Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving and Supplication, Our Father is perfect prayer.

    d. Must be presistent in our prayer

  3. We pray for the grace to continue praying inspte of when things are bleak.
